The band came together in 1981 and released their debut album, Too Fast For Love, which spawned the breakthrough hit, “Live Wire.” The band found amazing commercial success upon the release of their sophomore effort, Shout at the Devil. The unprecedented album belted out magnificent titles, such as the title track, “Looks That Kill,” “Too Young to Fall in Love,” “Helter Skelter,” and tons more. By 1987, the band found tremendous success with their third album Girls Girls Girls. The album also released a plethora of magnificent hits that conquered the airwaves. By this time, original members Nikki Six, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil made up one of the biggest rock bands in the world. The band was the epitome of rock and roll life. They made music about it and lived through it. They continue to bust out brilliant studio efforts, totaling to nine brilliant works, the latest being Saints of Los Angeles in 2008.

Motley Crue las vegas residency

In a review, the Star Tribune writer was totally impressed with the band’s new guitarist John 5 at a previous Motley Crue concert. “Mr. 5 proved totally proficient from the get-go as he wickedly slid and grinded through ‘Primal Scream’ and helped make ‘Live Wire’ sound a little extra rhythmic and punchy. He wowed the crowd with his Led Zeppelin-channeling, let-the-old-guys-rest mid-show solo segment, too.” The article also raved about the coolest moment in the show, “A common Crüe trick of late, the band threw in a medley of punk and classic-rock cover-song snippets in the middle of its set.”

Meanwhile, Go Venue Magazine wrote, “That live energy they bring every night is orgasmic, and that is what happened when I saw them perform.” The review added, “they live to tell the tale over forty years later of their pure rock n’ roll debauchery, and you have to admire that.” Lastly, John 5 was quick on getting the attention from rockers. “The real MVP of the set was guitarist John 5, whom you might know for performing with Rob Zombie. This man was a perfect fit for this band, with all due respect to original longtime member Mick Mars. It breathed some fresh life, performing perfect note-by-note guitar solos from the original recordings, while still doing his own thing.

Over at El Paso Inc., the article wrote,”The boys of Motley Crue are definitely keen to show the world they are still the bad boys of rock ’n’ roll, with stage antics fit only for the Crue.” The writer continued, “The Crue’s portion of the show was demonstrably a different vibe – the lighting, the videos – all of it was turned up to cater to the darker, fun side of rock.”

Lastly, Loudwire had this to write about a past Motley Crue show, “Motley Crue have always put on a live show of the grandest scale with all the pomp, circumstance and theatrics they can scheme up combined with their special own brand of raunch and roll, making for not just a night of great music, but an experience for anyone in attendance.”
